The Kinsmen Foundation Presents Telemiracle 36 Telethon, on CTV Saskatchewan; Featuring Country Music Artist Codie Prevost

SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN – - (Feb 27, 2012) – Starting at 9pm on Saturday March 3^rd, until 5pm on Sunday March 4^th; the Kinsmen Telemiracle Telethon will once again be raising funds, and collecting donations to “Help People Everyday.” The Kinsmen Foundation provides special needs equipment and access to medical assistance for Saskatchewan residents, groups, and health foundations to improve quality of life and independence. The funds raised through the annual Telemiracle Telethon make it possible to follow through on this commitment.

This year, Telemiracle will be held live at the Conexus Arts Centre in Regina and will feature talented performers from across the province, including country music star Codie Prevost. Prevost was nominated for the “Rising Star Award” at the 2011 Canadian Country Music Awards and is honoured to join the line up at Telemiracle which also includes Honeymoon Suite, Beverley Mahood, and Victoria Banks. Prevost says “Over the years I’ve seen a lot of great things that Telemiracle has done for people across our province. As a Saskatchewan resident/artist I’m excited to be a part of the national cast for the first time. Being able to contribute and give back to my home province through music is an honour”.

Anyone interested in donating to Telemiracle can; make a direct donation through a phone call during the telethon, mail in a cheque, or visit the website to donate on line. The Kinsmen Foundation also encourages residents of Saskatchewan to take part in fundraising initiatives throughout the year. Hey everyone hope things are going great! It has been a very busy start to the 2012 year.

Currently I’m working on a new album to be released later this year along with a tour that will coincide with the release of the new CD. I got to spend a few weeks in Nashville prior to Christmas writing for the new CD project. I can’t wait to share some of the new songs with you!

CODIE PREVOST TO PERFORM

on BCCMA Awards Show

2011 continues to be a highlight filled year for Saskatchewan’s Codie Prevost as he will be a special guest performer on The British Columbia Country Music Association (BCCMA) 2011 Award Show on November 19^th . This marks the first time that a Saskatchewan artist will be featured at the annual Award Show and Conference Weekend which runs November 19^th & 20^th in Coquitlam, BC.

“Getting asked to be part of such a prestigious awards show like the BCCMA’S representing my home province is a such big honour” says Prevost.

All the events are open to the public and take place at the Red Robinson Show Theatre (2080 United Boulevard) in Coquitlam, BC.

After a two week voting period Saskatchewan’s Codie Prevost has garnered himself a performance spot at FanFest during the Canadian Country Music Awards weekend in Hamilton September 9th – 12th. On September 10th FanFest will be hosted by The Wilsons and held at Jackson Square Rooftop Plaza where Prevost will be sharing the stage with Terri Clark & 2011 CCMA Hall of Fame inductee Michelle Wright.

After hearing about the win Prevost was quoted as saying “I really need to thank everyone at Radio,TV, Print Media and especially the FANS who came through for me and voted in large numbers. I want to thank the CCMA for giving me this opportunity and including me in this contest. Without everyone’s support and dedication I could not have accomplished this. I will do my best to make everyone proud in Hamilton this September”.

Manager Al Leblanc was taken a back by all the support Prevost received. “Country Music fans worldwide we thank you for voting and making Codie the 1st CCMA FanFest Contest winner. Premier Brad Wall & the province of Saskatchewan Thank You for stepping up and making this happen. I am proud to call Saskatchewan my home” says Leblanc.

Prevost has also been asked to perform at the CCMA Industry Brunch & Awards which will be hosted by Tara Oram and Aaron Pritchett on September 10^th at the Chedoke Ballroom in the Hamilton Convention Centre.

This year Prevost is nominated for the “Rising Star” award at the 2011 Canadian Country Music Awards which will be broadcast live on CBC Television from Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, ON, on September 12, 2011 at 8:00 pm (8:30pm NT), and at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CMT

Codie Prevost nominated for “RISING STAR” at

The “2011 Canadian Country Music Awards”

Saskatchewan’s Codie Prevost is nominated for the “Rising Star” Award at the 2011 Canadian Country Music Awards which ar e to be presented in Hamilton on Monday, September 12^th at Copps Colosieum. His latest album “Get Loud” is also nominated for “Album Design of the Year”.

“It’s been a great year that included a lot of firsts for me as a recording artist. My singles/videos “Rolling Back To You” & “Standing Still” played on CMT, “Rolling Back To You” hit the TOP 40 charts, I was featured on ET Canada, nominated for a Lieutenant Governor’s Arts Award, “Get Loud” appeared on Soundscan’s Top selling albums in Canada, I performed in France and my hometown of Archerwill put up two signs on the main highway that read “Welcome to Archerwill Home of Country Recording Artist Codie Prevost”. I feel very fortunate to have the support of my family, friends, and fans as well as Factor, The Saskatchewan Arts Board, SaskMusic and the Saskatchewan Country Music Association as they’ve helped me build a solid foundation to achieve this goal in my career”.

It was only 6 years ago that Prevost started his music career by slugging it out in small town bars across Saskatchewan for $100 a night as a solo acoustic artist in an effort to gain experience performing in front of a crowd. Using a grass roots approach since day one Prevost is truly an Indie artist. Along with his manager Alain Leblanc they started their own record label called “Good Spirit Records” and have built Prevost’s career from the ground up.

In September Prevost will be attending the 2011 CCMA awards weekend in Hamilton which will be broadcast on CBC television with an encore broadcast on CMT.
