Hey everyone just wanted to let you all know what's going on.

I am in Vancouver right now recording vocals for the new album and it's going great! I am working with Tom McKillip who has worked with many established artists such as Aaron Pritchett, Ian Tyson and Lisa Brokop. Tom & I will spend the remainder of the first week in February finishing up the vocals then we will move into instrument overdubs final mixing and mastering stages over the next month or so. The winter Olympics are here in Vancouver this month so the city is super busy and there’s a lot of excitement. So it's been a fun trip.

I wanted to let you all know that a couple weeks ago I received the Independent Music Award for Country Song of the Year for "SPIN" which I co-wrote with Willie Mack. I have to thank everyone who logged onto the IMA website and voted for my song "Spin". I could not have done it without you.

We are also one step closer to the "Codie Roadies" being launched on my website. When it is done you will be able to sign up to become a member of the Codie Prevost Team. There will be chat rooms, VIP access to shows, exclusive merchandise/videos, leader boards, and lots of other goodies. More to come on that as we get into February.

Thanks to everyone who helped promote my Birthday song for Ellen and in trying to prove the theory "Six Degrees of Separation". The video made it onto the Official Ellen DeGeneres Show Website so that was awesome. I couldn't have accomplished that without all my friends and fans helping me out. You guys are the best!!!!

Make sure to check out JoggleBug on my Facebook profile. It's this new voice blog technology were you can listen to voice blogs that I record on there about what I'm up to and things like that. It's pretty cool and I'm honored to be the 1st Country artist asked to join. You can check it out directly at www.jogglebug.com

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and check out my blog. Talk to you real soon everyone.

Codie Prevost January Update

Hey everyone hope things are well as we make our way into 2010. This past weekend I was very excited to hear that Bluegrass artist Randy Kohrs performed my song "Quicksand" on the Grand Ole Opry last week! "Quicksand" is the title track to Randy's brand new album which was just released in Canada and the U.S.A on Rural Rhythm records.

I'm currently in Vancouver finishing up the bed tracks for the new album. I am recording with a producer by the name of Tom Mckillip. He's an award winning producer who has worked with Lisa Brokop, Ian Tyson & Tom Jackson.

I started recording the first four songs last November at the Armoury Studios in Vancouver which is the studio where bands like AC/DC, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Hedley, and many other well known bands have recorded. It was really cool to see all the gold and platinum records hanging on the wall. Very inspiring!!!! I was extremely lucky to have some of the best musicians play on the songs. We had Jay Buettner (Electric Guitar), Jerry Adolphe (Drums), John Dymond (Bass) and Tom Mckillip (Acoustic Guitar).

Plans are in the works for shooting a video for the first single from my new CD in the next month or so and the single will be release to radio shortly after. The album is going to be available for pre-order as soon as the first single is released. If you pre-order the album you will get it prior to the official release date and your copy will be autographed when it arrives at your door step.

As well we will be launching official Codie Roadie's fan club very soon. Codie Roadies will have access to exclusive videos, concert tickets, free exclusive merchandise, chat room access and a lot more. For all of you who are interested in keeping up to date with tour dates and joining the Codie Roadie make sure to frequently check out my Official website for all the latest news. www.codieprevost.com

Hope all of you are well. Talk to you very soon,

Hey everyone Happy New Year!!!!

I wanted to recap what all happened in 2009 with the Codie Prevost team. In January 2009 we began the Community Futures campaign that ran in Alberta & Saskatchewan and included radio and print media. I was asked to participate in this campaign because in 2005 I had taken a small business loan to record my album "The Road Ahead" thru Community Futures. I spent most of January and February doing radio interviews with stations that were running the CF radio ads as well as local newspapers where the CF offices are located. This is the first time that they have tried anything like this as far as advertising and they said it was a huge success. Cool!! I'm so happy I was a part of their success.

In March I got an invitation to go to Austin, Texas to perform a showcase at the 2009 SXSW Music Festival. The showcase was sponsored Country Line Magazine and some of the other performers were Jeffrey Steele, Brandon Ryder, Dale Watson as well as many other great artists. Also in March the band opened a show for the Oakridge Boys at TCU Place in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. To get to share the stage with such legends was pretty exciting. What a great night.

The 2009 Saskatchewan Country Music Awards in Nipawin, Saskatchewan in April and it was an honor to receive so many awards between myself and my team. A big congratulation to Allison Tymiak (Fiddle Player of the Year), Alain Leblanc (Manager of the year), Charles Dumont (Drummer of the year) and the (Back-up Band of the Year) award went to the Codie Prevost Band. Congrats guys and thank you for working so hard this year. George Canyon and Blake Emmons were the special guests at the SCMA'S and it was awesome to get to hang out with those guys. Since then I have been to Nashville several times and got a chance to visit Blake many times.

Summer 2009 is one I'll always remember as I got to experience a lot of firsts. We performed at Dauphin Countryfest (Neil McCoy, Tim McGraw), Extreme Country Fever in Grande Prairie (Jason Aldean, Aaron Lines), the Gateway Music Festival (Road Hammers, Higgins) in Bengough, the Redneck Rumble (Gord Bamford), in Smeaton at "Country For Kids", the CMA Festival in Nashville, and many other great shows. One of the biggest highlights of the summer for me was getting a chance to meet Jason Aldean at Extreme Country Fever. He's a great guy, put on a heck of a show and has an awesome band!

In September I attended the 2009 Canadian Country Music Awards Weekend in Vancouver. I showcased at the Shark Club as part of "East Meets West" which featured Canadian country singer from across the country. The other performers where Tennille, Blake Emmons, Aaron Pritchett, Kelly Brock, Carly Jo, Patrick Masse, Patrick Leblanc, Cathy Anne Mcklintock & Sandra Laratta. That same weekend I performed at the 2009 Socan Songwriters Circle. This is where four artists are on the stage at the same time and they share stories about their songs and then perform those songs for the crowd. I was delighted to share the stage with Victoria Banks, Dean Brody, and Dave Gunning. The next weekend I drove with my band to Brandon, Manitoba for the Western Canadian Awards Weekend. I did two radio interviews, one TV interview, performed three showcases, and had the chance to present the Socan Songwriter of the Year award to Romi Mayes at the awards gala. For sure a weekend to remember!

I spent a lot of the year on the road performing as well as traveling to Nashville to do some songwriting. So it seems appropriate that I finished off the year on Sean Hogan's Canadian Country Christmas tour just prior to Christmas. I was so glad to be a part of the tour and share the stage with Sue Medley, and Jamie Warren. The tour had stops in BC, Alberta & Saskatchewan. I got to start with them in Kelowna, BC from there we went on to perform in Prince George, Olds, Porcupine Plain, Fort McMurray and Peace River. After the tour ended on December 13th I got home to Saskatoon and performed at an event called "Songs For Supper" at the Refinery. It's an event that helps raise money for the Saskatoon Food Bank at Christmas time.

New Years Eve was a blast this year as we performed at Prairieland Park in Saskatoon with Tyler Lewis, Wyatt, Doc Walker, and Deric Ruttan. They all put on great shows and there were so many people having a good time which was really great to see.

Well in a nutshell those are some of the things I did in 2009. Thank you to everyone who came to the shows, booked me for shows, and has followed me in my career. You guys are what keeps me going!!!!

See you soon.
