Prevost To Perform At 2016 Gympie Music Muster
Canada’s Codie Prevost has been invited to perform at one of Australia’s most prestigious country music festivals. Prevost will join Australian and a select number of international acts at The Gympie Music Muster this August. This will be Prevost’s third trip down under in 2 years.
“I’m very excited about returning to Australia for the third time,” said Prevost. “The country music fans are amazing and have really made me feel at home. I’ve heard so many great and unique things about the Gympie Music Muster and can’t wait to experience it as an artist.”
“They tell me that this event is in the middle of a pristine State Forest home to Australian wildlife, but this one weekend each year.”
Prevost signed to Ceol Entertainment in early 2015 after his first tour to Australia. His first Australian single “All Kinds of Crazy” reached #14 on the country’s most downloaded songs list. “Codie is a great addition to the Ceol Family, an exceptional talent and such a pleasure to work with,” says Sage Wilson, of Ceol Entertainment. “We are looking forward to getting Codie’s music to the very loyal muster audience, they will love him.”
The Gympie Music Muster was founded in the early 1980s by iconic Australian country act The Webb Brothers and has grown to a marquee event which has raised over $15 million for charity and community groups. The event’s charity partner for 2016 is Mates4Mates, which supports injured and ill members of the Australian Defense Force, both current and former.
“He will make plenty of mates over the 4 day event,” Wilson added, “Codie will know he’s at a real Aussie festival this trip, especially when a big Goanna crawls into this tent to snack on his wheat-bix”
Prevost has previously performed in Australia at the Tamworth Country Music Festival and the Plantation Music Festival.
